I'm a knitter
And I'll knit for you.
Carin's knitting process is masterful. She is efficient and quick, turning out complex projects with skill most knitters would envy. Her project management abilities make gauge, pattern and size changes an interesting challenge rather than a problem. I have one of her hats and I can't stop looking at the stitches, both inside and out. Her prices are reasonable, and she meets deadlines perfectly. Knitting is a genuine love for her, so wearing one of her pieces will make you feel truly special. If you can imagine it, she can knit it. - Lindsay, Philadelphia, PA.
Minneapolis, MN is a perfect place for a knitter. The winters are chilly and perfect for snuggly knits; the summers are lovely and inspiring for unusual classics. During my years here I have knit for myself, knit for friends and family, and taught folks to knit. I'm a knitter for hire!
I am curious about classic techniques and styles, but at the same time I am a child of the modern era. I am interested in both vintage and modern knits. My project bags regularly hold lace socks next to an IPad cozy, or a Norwegian sweater next to a miniature soft sculpture of Doctor Who. If you can imagine it, I can knit it.
I learned to knit for my Grandma Olga. When she got too arthritic, I picked up her needles to carry on the tradition that I had spent my life watching. I immediately took to the meditative and surprisingly joyful hobby.
I am a member of the Knitting Guild Association and am enrolled in Level 1 of the Master Knitters Program, and won a blue ribbon at the Minnesota State Fair in 2014 for my Bohus Sweater.
Read the Rewire article for some more about what I do and why I do it.
When I'm not knitting, I like to cook and bake, garden, play tuba with Mike's Brass, and snuggle with my husband, daughter, and our dog, Harry. I also lead my theater company, and am a certified Infant and Child Sleep Consultant with Tender Transitions.
Happy Knitting!
